These are histories of ancient lands
Geographical position, amount of sunlight, moisture and temperature are conditions that make the hillside slopes of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, unique.
In these lovely hills, in the immediate vicinity of the “Grave di Papadopoli”, it is located the farm called La Jara whose vineyards extend until the banks of the River Piave.
This land belongs to the Marion family, owner of La Jara since 1891.
The great love of this family for the land and for its products handed down from generation to generation and it is now perpetuated by Massimo Marion with the help of his brother Paolo, who have been running the farm since 1990 with renewed energy.
“La Jara” is the name of the company and in local dialect means “gravel”. The white stones and chalky silt of the River Piave, which constitute the soil, accumulate heat during the day and release it slowly during the night. This exalts both the freshness and floral fragrance of our wines, releasing delicate scents and the typical sapid flavour of calcareous soils.
In order to gain the best of this particular soil, great attention is paid to the fields cultivation through the use of BIODYNAMIC principles, a careful selection of clones and the use of local biotypes which were found in old vineyards.
Nowadays the farm has various “cru” and each one of them show different peculiarities.
